Until the end of the year, the European Parliament Visitors’ Circuit in Strasbourg is hosting a temporary exhibition organized by the Presidency of the Council of the European Union. Ireland is currently in the spotlight with the exhibition A History of Ireland in 100 Words.

The exhibition is built around 10 words from the Irish (Gaelic) language and invites visitors to discover Irish customs and traditions. It is a great opportunity to learn more about the Celtic culture of our fellow European citizens, while also discovering the richness of the Irish language.

Would you like to find out where Halloween comes from, or why the harp has become one of Ireland’s most iconic symbols? The exhibition A History of Ireland in 100 Words answers these questions and takes visitors on a journey through Irish history and culture.

The exhibition is free of charge and can be visited without prior booking during the European Parliament’s visiting hours. Visitors simply need to present a physical valid identity card or passport.
