Extending the Gaze
The collection of thirteen contemporary pieces by leading artists from Denmark, Latvia and Slovenia, many of whom are women, sheds a light on many of the complex themes which lie at the heart of current political debates. Whether that be migration, climate change, gender identity or the anxieties surrounding a new digital age, their works serve to inspire visitors and motivate them to explore a variety of urgent issues from different viewpoints.
The exhibition seeks to empower European citizens to “extend their gaze” beyond their own preconceived notions and prejudices, think critically and deeply about the intersection between the personal and the political and engage in the cultural dialogue happening around them.
