The exhibition

To mark the Cypriot Presidency of the Council of the European Union, the European Parliament in Strasbourg is hosting the exhibition “Myths and Tales of Cyprus”, currently on display along the visitors’ circuit

Based on the short film series produced by the Press and Information Office of the Republic of Cyprus, the exhibition brings to life iconic figures of the island’s mythical world such as Digenis, Sierolotta, Rigaina, Kalikantzaroi and other entities born of folk tradition. Myths are not merely stories. They are Cyprus’ intangible heritage, its collective memory, its cultural DNA.

“Myths and Tales of Cyprus” is an invitation to a journey through time, memory, and the poetry of a land that still tells its stories.
