A Jester’s Tale (Bláznova kronika)

A dark, anti-war comedy by Czech filmmaker Karel Zeman, A Jester’s Tale combines live action and animation inspired by engraver Matthäus Merian, set against the backdrop of the Thirty Years’ War.

About Wouter Hessels

Wouter Hessels is an accomplished film historian and educator, teaching film and media history at institutions across Europe, including Brussels’ RITCS and INSAS. A former director of Cinematek, Belgium’s Royal Film Archive, Wouter is now a film curator for Gaasbeek Castle and a writer on arts, media, and politics. Fluent in multiple languages, he brings a rich global perspective to his work in film, literature, and poetry.
