Shaping Europe: The history of the European Elections

The visitors and citizen’s unit of the European parliament in Strasbourg will offerfrom the 30th April to 4th June 2024, guided tours in French, German and English of the exhibition “Shaping Europe. The history of European elections”.

Guided tours of the exhibition

The tours will be held every Tuesday:

11am - in French and German 4pm - in English
11am - in French and German
4pm - in English

The visitors will have the opportunity to discover the history of the creation of the first European election in 1979 and its development in parallel to that of the European Union. 

Following a timeline, the exhibition contextualise the last 45 years of European elections with the enlargements and the key events in the history of Europe. 

The European democracy is more important than ever : the role of the European parliament is to represent the citizens and defend their opinions. 
The more people vote in the European elections from 6th to 9th June 2024, the stronger democracy become. 

Visits are free, no prior registration is required. 
Just report to the visitors' circuit entrance to the Louise Weiss building (allée du Printemps, Strasbourg), with a valid identity document, about fifteen minutes before the scheduled time for the security check.
